Baby Blessing

Skye had a successful blessing day a few weeks ago. She had lots of visitors who supported her. She was a happy/tired little girl that day. Max just ran around crazy with all his cousin's. lets just say by the end of the night he was not happy. He had an hr long melt down because he wanted to ride in his Grandpas car which was not going anywhere.

A new Family Member

about a month ago my brothers family welcomed there 4th child and only girl, Taya to there family. She is about 6 weeks I think, younger then Skye. We are so excited for Skye to have a buddy (is is ok for girls to have "buddies"?) I made a quick visit to there house a couple of days after she was born to introduce myself and Skye. Max and James stayed home. My Sister in Law Caroline tends to have big babies (and Taya was big, 9lbs and 2 weeks early) so I kept telling them that Her baby as a newborn would be the same size as Skye at 6 weeks, but when I held her that was not ture at all. My baby was a chunk and the pictures show it. I just wanted to share our excitment with you.

Its been a while since we have seen them because of the holidays and we are sick or they are so Taya could be a giant by now. I am sure I will be posting more pictures of her. Plus their boys are super friends to Max. He just loves them. They let him be mean to them (he is a toddler) and are patient with him.

St George

We took a little vacation to St. George Thanksgiving week kind of out of no where. As i probably have said before that we stay at my Grandpas house when he isn't there. He is about to head down for the winter so we thought if we wanted to go, then now was the time before he hogged the house the rest of the winter. We headed down on a Saturday and apparantly missed a big storm. We didn't really plan around weather. We just knew either we go now or don't go for another 6 months. Sunday was a windy cold day. Since we have a little baby and its Sunday, we didn't do much. Max was going CRAZY. i finally told James to take him to the movies just so he can get out. Is that wrong of me? So Max went to the theater for the first time and did very well. Then on Monday the weather was much better so we did all we could with a baby and almost 2 year old (pictures below). Then everyone was calling us about a storm that we didn't know about was coming on Wed. and that we should not drive through it. So we watched the news and they made a big deal about it. WE were not sure whethere we wanted to leave on Wed or Thursday but Wed was just feeling right to me even though a big storm was coming through. So we packed all up that morning and sped home as fast and safly as we could. Lets just say we made it home in 5 1/2 hr with a 40 min break to take care of Skye (which she did awesome in the car). We were not going crazy fast or anything. Its as if St George became a shorter trip all of the sudden. Anwyas, we made if home about an hour before the big storm hit and we sure were glad we got home when we did because Sardine was going to be a big mess. I will just say LUCKY!!

So as the kid lift he made sure James saw him sticking his toung our at him. IT was so funny! James was beat by a 3 year old. By the way. This museum was not a fun place for a toddler, but I liked it.

October 31st

just wanted to show a few pictures of our Halloween. We didn't do anything special except eat a pumpkin shaped pizza. James was not excited for Halloween at first but quickly got into it. He found a wig and dressed up as a redneck or as he would say "a citizen of Tremonton". He works over there a lot. I didn't get big into costumes this year because neither one of my kids care yet. My sister let us barrow a dragon coat which came in handy since it was cold.... And ever since Halloween Max has massered the phrase "I want candy". He looks for it constantly in the house.

This Little Guy

 

Can you guess who Max really likes? He is James's little shadow when he comes home from work, he even tries to get into the bathroom before James just so he can be with him. He likes the time he gets with James and he has gotten a lot more since Skye has come along. He also likes it when James makes him go sit in the corner for being mean to his sister. He always has a big grin on his face.

Such a Joy

Here is my little bean again. We just can't get enough of her, so my sister in law Melissa Kelsey and her hubby who is James's brother Todd came for a vist and took some adorable pictures of Skye, and Todd spoiled Max by being his buddy. Anyways, I wanted to share a few of the pictures she took. Melissa had some good ideas for picutes but it required Skye to be asleep or a little more calm but we didn't get that. Its ok though they are still so cute. I will post some more of the pictures she took later. I have lots!

 

 

 

What we have been up to

Well its been a month since I last posted. Life has been a little crazy and has taken some adjusting to but we have managed to so far. I think we kind of lost the camera fro a little while too and so I didn't have any new pictures except the ones from the hospital.
Max loves his sister but he is too friendly with her. We have decided to just not let him touch her because he is never soft. But keeping them away from eachother is hard to do. The fact of life is Skye jus thas to deal with an overly excited/agressive brother. Start her young so she will be use to it. She has been a good sport so far. I just can't believe how fast Max's hands move.He really has been a good sport about this whole thing. He does associate Skye in the family when he talks. Like on morning Max was crying for someone to get him and he was saying "Daddy, Mommy, Baby", or he talks about were she sits in the car or gets her diaper changed. He is quite the talker now.
Skye has been great. Well, she is struggling a little when she is awake which isn't a lot. I think she is mad at the world for being such a crazy place. She will figure it out soon. But she is a good little sleeper, and she is just so darn cute.
James and I just puchased a King sized bed. James said he was sick of knees in his back. It has been a ruff few months for him with me being prego and now with the baby. Well, and our bed was probably older then we are combined so we thought it was time. It sure has been a cozy bed.
I am feeling really good. I can tell those pregnancy hormons are gone because I can smell things without them getting to me and I am LOVING food again. I really have missed myself. I can't wait till I can be 100% myself and do some real physical activities. Its been too long!!!

Skye Kelsey

She's Here! Skye came into this world Sept 24th and after about 5 hours of labor (I am still in shock of how fast it happen). Her due date was teh 25th so we were about on track. She is healthy and strong. Oh and she weighed 7lb 4oz. Just an average baby. We are so happy to have her hear with us, well during the day. Nights could be easier, but I think I will survive.

 

The nurses loved her hair. They gelled it all up and made her look so cute. I don't know how to do hair.

Here is a picture of Max when he was born. I think they look like siblings but probably only to me. They don't really look to much a like. Thats is ok since Max was born looking like a man. We didn't want that for Skye.

Well, This is my story for now. I am kind of sleep deprived and have so many things on my mind.

Bear Lake

We did find our camera but these pictures were emailed to me from my sister in law. Otherwise I would have 0 pictures of my fun months of August.
James has worked a really crazy schedual all summer which left Max and I scrounging around for things to do. Luckly my a couple of my siblings planned a bear lake trip that we were invited to. I was kind of skeptical about going since I didn't know if James was going to make it or not and sometimes chasing a 1 year old for a few days isn't always the funnest thing to do by yourself. But I thought, what have I got to lose. So Max and I packed up and left. Plus BL isn't to faraway from home.
We stayed in a awesome condo close to the beach and played hard all day and night. Max really loved having the extra company around. He loves his cousins. He talkes about them sometimes and when he sees them he get so excited. Max pretty much ignored me most of the time. It was so strange to have a once needy clingy kid to an independant kid. But it is back to were it was before. Anyways, my sisters cooked yummy food and took good care of MAx and I. But we sure were tired when and ready to come home when it was all done. And while we had all the fun, James worked. Poor guy. just to rememind him of his family we would send him pictures of MAx and I on the beach :)

As for Baby Kelsey and I, we are doing good. No signs that she wants to make and entrance yet though. It doen't hurt my feelings that she likes me so much but it does hurt my back. It will be soon though. The Dr. asked about and induction date today (not that I am due just yet) and I told her I wanted to wait. Really no hurry to get her out. Max needs more Mom and Max time.

6 Years In The Making

 

So James and I are celebrating our 6 year Anniversary this week. We have no plans for the actual day mostly because Max is going to the Dr for his 18month check up even though he is almost 21 months now (I hate hate canceling Dr appointments. it takse forever to get back in.), and I would hate to leave him with a sitter all sad and sore from his shots. He has done well in the past, but you never know... The other reason was I have been thinking I want to go to Karate class one more time, nine months prego. I went last week and I did survive but it just doesn't feel so good anymore. I know i can do it but do I really want to?
This is a picture, the only picutre of our Anniversary last year. To make it fun we gave it the "as seen on TV" theme. All the things in the picture are the things I got. I got James thing to hang his bike from, which he still has yet to open. We did make it out to eat without Max thanks to my Awesome friend Gentri who watched him.
We met met over 7 years ago at USU. We were neighbors. I can't officially say when the first time we met was but I think it was at a church activaty. Well, its a good/bad story. I had one roomate who thought he was so cute and had a crush on him but I still hadn't met him until one night. He discovered me and I him and we kind of flirted. This made my roomate mad, and I did not do it to make her mad. I didn't even know him and she had never spoked a word to him nor did she plan to. I knew she was mad but not as mad as she was. So I didn't come hom that night until really late (we shared a room) just to avioid her. She told me she wasn't mad at me but was mad at herself for acting the way she did. She was very supportive after that. Luckly this all happen at the end of the school year and it didn't really end up being a big deal. James and I swaped numbers because I was moving down the street and it all started from there, Thursday lunch dates, kissing on the A, baseball night, and I am sure otherstuff that I can't remember... Well, he finished school 4 months later and got a job and moved to SLC while I was stuck in Logan dreaming about him for another 4 months (I didn't have much of a social life that year)until I moved home and we got engaged. 6 years, 3 moves, one house, 5 jobs, 1 and 8/9ths of a kids later we are a happy family.
As for me and pregnancy, I think its going good. I can't complain to much. She doesn't sqwish my insides much I can breath, sit, am not woken to use the bathroom all night or day, no complications. Sure I could easily skip the first 4 months easy but the rest I can handel. It really isn't soooo bad but I would like to have my body back (HA, like that will happen). The Dr tells me I am ment to have babies, be pregnant that is. I hope this delivery is faster less painfull and has a faster recovery. Am I dreaming? I was induced with Max since my body was in no hurry to get him out,and am thinking it might be the same with this one. I just hate this waiting game especially since I have Max to worry about. Poor boy doen't know what he is in for. He just thinks him Mom is lamer than Dad. I am going to show him one day. Oh, and my ticker actually is wrong. I purposfully gave it more time then I have because I am weird like that. I kind of felt like it was an invasion of my privacy.
One more thing. We found our camera the same day we ordered a new one. So one day we might have some pictures. I have missed an entire months of them. That includes my bear lake and lake powell trips and a few other things.

My New Trees

 

I am so excited to share my newest decoration in my house. TREES! i have been thinking and thinking about getting these for months now but just kept putting it off. I finally decided to do it after my birthday and use my birthday money. My Neighbor Missy has a vinal maching and helped my put this all together, and I owe her big! I bet she thought I was nuts at first but by the end we both were in love (I was in love from the beginging).
I am kind of a nerd about putting things on my walls and decorating so this is a big commitment to me. I just got that new green hutch thing. Thats what I am calling it. I don't know really what it is. And i am loving that as well. I can hide all of Max's toys that he doesn't play with anymore since they are so boring. Anyways, I really think the two of them go together. i do know that my house is a little messy and that I have a teddy bear on my landing (james likes it there for kicks) so you have to look past that. Oh, and Max was really excited to be in a picture. He kept saying "cheese" for me.
So what do you think? Do you see anything I should change? I still need cut some things off and add to the trunk of the trees. Other then that, what do you think. I can add or subtract anything.

A few weeks ago my sister-in-law, Melissa was in town and stayed the night which was short but much loved. I was so excited! Max really took to her too. Max is a picky boy about many things and one of them is people. He is kind of a Mama's boy, and I will be honest by saying it can be really hard sometimes. Anyways, Melissa got some good smiles out of him and I do think he started attacking her, playful of course. that is a big step for Max. Melissa grabed her nifty camera to take some cute candid pictures of Max. She is a Photographer so of course I would let her take pictures of Max anyways, but because she is good at it I encouraged her to take them. I am sure one reason she wanted these pictures is because she just doesen't get to see all the sides of him since we don't get to see much of eachother and because of Max being the Mama's boy thing. Family Vacation

for our 4th of july we got to party with James family at Brian Head. His parents rented a cabin for a week. James did lots of biking with his brothers, Nephew and Dad. He was so excited for this that he even went and got a new bike for this trip.
This trip was not all about James... We got to hike, eat, play games (something James and I love to do), play with cousins, watch movies, eat some more, look out the window to a beautiful landscape and have fun.

 

Our family picture at our famous meadow. I talk more about it in the post below. We want to take pictures of our family here as it grows since this is kind of the place it all started.

 

While James was on a bike ride with his Dad, Grandma, Max and I strolled around downtown Bryce. This is Max and I (of course). This is most of James family that came up. Some had already gone home, one didn't want to Join in for the picture. And another family didnt make it up. But this is the jist of the party animals.

 

I did not put him in the lady hole to be funny (kind of). there was a ledge there for him to stand on, Plus its cute.

 

Max was in Jail with me for 10 seconds. He saw the people before him get out so he took no time to get out when we went in. It does look like a good time out place.
